(G) What a week it has been. I flew to Colorado early Wednesday morning and returned home Sunday afternoon. We had some graduation celebrating to do and I managed to squeeze in a little exercise. Although I like to think just climbing the stairs in Colorado is hard training and exertion for a flat-lander like me.
Thursday, I had big plans for 8 miles but at 5.5 my day got derailed by super-secret, covert shenanigans with the graduate. (Totally worth it, I might add.)
So Friday morning there weren’t many excuses left so Lowi and I headed out and she helped me get the first 3 miles in. Then her commitments started shouting from the rooftops so she hit the shower and I continued on for another five.
So let’s take a moment and applaud my slow, yet committed, effort to do 8 miles at about 6,000 feet (at least according to my GPS).
Saturday, the only physical activity I can claim is weak as I took Samson, the love muffin, on a walk for about 15 minutes. I was willing to go longer but he couldn’t be without his mommy so we headed back (read as: he dragged me home).
Since being back in Ohio I haven’t gotten much accomplished except laundry and painting. Yes, painting!
While I was gone Swaggy had big plans of painting bathrooms and some other touch ups around the house. He didn’t get it all done so I spent Monday painting a closet and a bathroom. That counts as some sort of activity, right?
But no more excuses, back to it today because I have a race in about 12 days. Oops.
(L) I really don’t have a lot to add to this report as G already told you my week was full of commitments. We had family in town for graduation and the big party, which equated to lots of planning, cleaning and just keeping up with the Kardashians! I managed 2 run/walks last week and one was actually with G. We always have big plans to do more, but it never seems to happen when there is an event. So, now I am hoping G will sign up for the Slacker Half Marathon and come back out here at the end of June.
Now graduation is over and it’s time to get back on track. I can’t even be a slacker if I don’t get going on some training.
Sunshine & Sarcasm,
Lowi & G
The Torture Report began in January 2014 as a weekly update of our journey to completing a 50-mile race. Since then it’s continued on to become a chronicle of how we try mightily to find fitness, health and sometimes the finish line. We aren’t always successful but we keep showing up and telling you all about it on Tuesdays.
