Last week, Baby Lisa, mom and I all went to see P!nk, the singer, in concert.

I have seen her a few times as have my mom and sister and she never disappoints. She puts on quite an acrobatic spectacle but what’s really impressive is her voice. She can sing while upside down, hanging an incalculable number of feet from the ground and it’s mesmerizing.

However, some of my favorite songs were when she was simply sitting on stage singing stripped down, semi-acoustic versions of her songs. That’s where her talent, for me, really shines.

She’s both badass and spiritually minded, often in the same song and it speaks to me.

She is a strong woman, raising what I can only imagine will turn out to be strong, capable, independent adults. She is unapologetically herself and it’s refreshing. I found myself lost in her voice for minutes at a time and in this age of cell phones and us all having attention spans like gnats, that is saying something.

If you get a chance, go see her live. It’s sight and sound to behold.
