(G): In light of recent events, I imagine many of you, like me, awake this Monday morning feeling exhausted. It’s easy to get mired down by the absurdity and devolution of decency.
This month, we’ve been talking about how in times of overwhelm, in uncertainty, in searching to follow the sage advice of Glennon Doyle Melton and choose “just the next right thing.”
So today, I suggest that possibly the next right thing is to consider what we love, we we’re inspired by, what we want more of in our lives. As you go out into your week, let’s spend a few minutes on joy, peace and love.
Possibly the Beatles had it right all those years ago when they sang “All You Need Is Love.” It may not be the only thing needed but I think it covers quite a lot of our maladies.
Today, the next right thing for me to ease my heart is to spend some time with things I think are beautiful, nurture relationships in love, and get a breath of fresh air.
What’s your next right thing?
Lowi, here. My next right thing is ibuprofen, a hot bath and quite possibly some Beatles. Some days we just need to take it minute by minute!
