Trusting your intuition, synchronicity, being open to messages…this has been on my mind a lot lately.
Back in November, we were writing up a storm and both G and I were getting similar, yet crazy, messages. We were not lacking in the inspiration department. Then life started throwing curveballs as it will and everything stopped. No inspiration. Writing was hard. We even took December off from blogging to try to regain our mojo. Nothing. January continued to bring a major roadblock in the creativity department and we began to wonder if our well had run dry. Out of desperation, we began to talk more regularly to try to spur our imagination and then…it happened.
It started last week, when I told G we needed “goats” to start appearing again. We use this phrase to refer to moments in time when we are in sync with one another and inspiration abounds. Two days later she sent me a message that said, “You asked for goats…” and it was a photo that popped into her social media feed of goats wearing sweaters and riding on pop tarts. Shortly after that I referred to an author as a random example in explaining an idea to G. Several days later, I received a book that I had ordered and this same author had written the foreword!
We love when these coincidences or synchronistic moments happen because we know we are open to the stories that want to be written.
In the last week, I realized I have been closed off, not inspired, and definitely not open to receiving anything. Then, I asked for goats…and I received goats. G and I are spotting them everywhere. Suddenly, the doors of creativity have been kicked open. Why? I can’t speak for G, but I know I have been living in a place of reaction, fear, anxiety, and scarcity. I didn’t even realize it until I began actively seeking the light, praying for change, and honestly just asking for what I need. I mean, it’s not like I was asking for a miracle, just some clarity and goats!
Don’t get me wrong I know there are a lot of people out there asking for miracles and literally praying for their lives. This is not what I am talking about. I think sometimes we are afraid to ask or open ourselves up because it feels trivial. It’s not! Being open to the light is not trivial. Being open to the positive is not trivial. Being open to this beautiful life is not trivial.
We get one chance, one life, what are we waiting on? Let’s start asking for what we need, going after it, being open, spreading the light, speaking our truth and living in a place of joy and abundance rather than despair and scarcity.
It could change your life…or inspire you to get a pet goat!
