(G) Last week started with a fury and then petered out rather quickly. Between feeling not so energetic and having friends in over the weekend I got sidetracked, quickly.
Tuesday started out strong with some serious hill work and crazy planking. Then Wednesday was more like “What I Am Not Doing” Wednesday. I was not really exercising. I toyed with riding the bike, walked about a mile and a half and then called it off.
Thursday I rallied with 7 miles and then the spiraling of the drain began with both my exercise and eating habits going south in a hurry.
Now having friends visiting was fun and we jetted around from here to there but there was more chocolate, sorbet and other snacking abound than anything healthy I would venture to say.
Then, I remembered I told you I was taking it easier in July and my conscience felt clearer but I am sure the scale is weighing heavier.
Monday rolled around and I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to get the momentum rolling again. Jumping back in after 3 days off is a lot like dragging yourself out of bed with a hangover (not that I know what that feels like).
But I managed to walk 6 miles and do all my new-fangled spider crawling, low squats and other hateful exercises so here’s to today continuing that trend. I better keep it on the straight and narrow as Swags and I are headed to two concerts this week so there’s bound to be some food choices to work off.
(L) Aloha! Last week I was sick, my hubby was sick, one of my girls was sick and my dog had to go to the vet for an eye infection. Exercise came in the form of hacking up my lungs about 25,000 times/day and packing. Yep, it felt like the weekend would never arrive, but it did and we are now in Oahu. As my neighbor said before we left, “once you arrive you will feel as though you have landed in Eden and everything else will disappear.” And so it has…
As far as exercise goes we have walked a lot as we toured all over Pearl Harbor. On Monday, we hiked up Diamond Head which has a lot of stairs, but still not too strenuous.
As for the rest of our trip? The plan is to get in a lot of hiking mixed with plenty of beach time. Tune in next week to see if I actually move from beach chair…
