The dynamic duo that is Lowi & G come from a long line of nickname givers/receivers. Between the two of us we have amassed far too many to remember, repeat or revisit. That’s not to say that we are not fans of nicknames. WE ARE! If we weren’t, Pocahontas, Johnny Armani, Speedy, Shakira or Crazy Horse would never have taken flight. Now we did not come up with all of these but we certainly did our part in perpetuating them. For us, nicknames are terms of endearment and torture all rolled up in one. It’s always on a continuum… sometimes more love… sometimes more torture.
Just like our blog name came from monikers coined by the wee ones in our lives. And of course, our blog runs on our whims as well.. sometimes sarcasm (OK a lot) and sometimes sunshine (or partly cloudy).
This brings us to some important business that requires all of our attention.
Pocahontas needs a new name.
Don’t get us wrong, we love Lowi’s pursuit to Become Pocahontas as well as your enthusiasm for her quest. Unfortunately, Pocahontas is also a Disney character. We’re guessing the big mouse house won’t be quite as thrilled that we’ve borrowed her name. That’s where you come in. We need to find a new name for Lowi.
We have some ideas but we are open to yours as well. So we’ve decided to devote some time to finding Lowi a befitting, nice-ringing, new name by which she will be called in her pursuit to become:
TWFKAP (The Woman Formerly Known as Pocahontas)
Here’s how to play:
Leave us your suggestions in the comment box, email us (lowiandang@gmail.com) or message us on Facebook. Tell us what you think Lowi’s new name should be! On Wednesday we will begin giving you choices to vote on. And don’t worry we will be sending out plenty of reminders!
Sushine & Sarcasm,
Lowi & G
Replacement for Pocahontas would be Pookie, of course.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ann. We’ll see what Lowi wants to go with. Pookie is a sweet alternative… just like her.

Lovi. I always think of this because I wrote her name on a name tag for book club one time and the “r” looked like a “v”. We called her “Lovi” all night. And she is lovable 🙂
