It’s all about perspective when deciding if someone is a Grinch or not.

Take me, for example. I like Christmas, and I enjoy the holiday festivities, but I don’t start decorating and listening to Christmas music on November 1. In comparison to, say, my sisters, I am, in fact, a Grinch. They are looking for reasons to decorate before Halloween candy goes on sale.

Then, last year, I received a package from said sisters. Inside were Christmas magnets for my Jeep. The packet was full of decals in the shape of reindeer, Christmas bells, lights – the works. And the expectation was that I adorn said vehicle ASAP. So I did. I received a fair number of quizzical looks and more than a few comments to the effect that I might be pushing the season a tad.

The end of last year was bumpy, and something about those magnets made me think I should lean in a little further, so I bought battery-powered lights for inside the Jeep. I wrapped them around the roll bars so the back part of the vehicle was awash in color. The lights are even a little bougie. They work on a remote and have eight different settings. It’s absurd. Even then, by contrast, I was still a Grinch.

This year, maybe a little out of desperation, I decided I would try to do a little better. 

In September, life was difficult, and I was feeling more than a little down. So I surprised myself by ordering a Christmas comforter for my bed to go with the Christmas sheets Lowi bought for me last year. Can you sense a theme?

Here we are in early November, and I wondered, where are those holiday magnets? 

Thankfully, I found them pretty easily and decided just to go ahead and put them on the Jeep. But then, after a little brainstorming and the help of Google, my husband and I decided we could up our game. I think even my sisters will be surprised.
