Say Yes!

Two weeks ago, G spoke about showing up in her own life by bringing forth whatever gift or skill was inside. She addressed the fact that there are so many things constantly vying for our attention, including the fact the everyday we wake up wondering if this is the day that the “sky will fall.”  She reminded us that short of a few things we can do to tangibly help, we need to keep living.

Maybe the sky will fall and you know what?  She’s right. None of these things are a good reason to sit back and wait.  It’s time to show up and make the most of your life.

I’m not sure if you are familiar with Jesse Itzler.  He is an entrepreneur, author, owner of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks and married to the Spanx founder, Sarah Blakey.  I follow Itzler on Instagram and he is ALWAYS showing up for life in a big way.  Last week, he did the Arizona Ultraman Race.  He did a 6.2 mile swim, 261 mile bike ride and 52.4 mile run over 3 days.

Cold Showers

I know this sounds awful but what I am loving these days is cold showers. To be more precise, I am loving what cold showers do for me in the long run. Many of you have likely heard about the benefits of ice baths, cold showers, and the like in the realm of Wim Hof and others. Without getting too in-depth, the overall idea (proven by research) is that immersion in cold water whether in a bathtub, lake, or shower while still maintaining a consistent breathing rhythm can aid in recovery, boost heart rate variability and even improve sleep quality.

The Great Work of Your Life

“The Great Work of Your Life” by Stephen Covey in a word is disruptive. It grabbed my attention on the first page and never let me go. It did, however, take a while to read it because I needed to digest and consider the ideas he presents in this book.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Accept or Decline?

Friends, I know it’s been a long two weeks of waiting and wondering if I received “the email.”  Let me put your minds at ease right from the start.  Yes, I received the much anticipated/dreaded email from UltraSignup on March 9th.

The email congratulated me on being selected to participate in the 2022 Outrun24 and asked me to Decline or Accept the invitation.
