Vacation Bound

“We’re leavin’ on a jet plane
Don’t know when we’ll be back again…”
Lyrics from Leaving on a Jet Plane by Peter, Paul and Mary

It’s true, we, Lowi and G, and most of the people that belong to us are going on vacation in just a few short days.  We do, however, have a return flight so we know when we will be back.

We haven’t decided on the exact date that we will return to blogging, but we will be back. Our hope is that by taking a break and enjoying time with our family that we will have a plethora of things to write about when we do return.

As I said, we are taking most of the people that belong to us; parents, spouses, soon-to-be spouses, siblings, children, and boyfriends.  How can there not be stacks of stories when we return?  The flights alone should be blog worthy because when you are traveling with family across the country and then some, there are bound to be some moments.  And of course, we have matching Hawaiian shirts for all 11 of us to travel in so we don’t lose one another and we can look like we’ve never taken a vacation before in our lives.  Yes, we sometimes enjoy making a spectacle of ourselves in public.  Don’t worry, we will take lots of photos and take notes so you don’t miss a single laugh.

This weekend, I was thinking about the last time we all went somewhere together other than a wedding or family function.  Some of us went to Disney about 13 years ago and while that was a big trip, the kids were all small and G didn’t go with us.

What really comes to mind are the yearly excursions to King’s Island, but again those lasted only a day.

Honestly, this may be the longest amount of time that my parents and sisters have spent together since we all lived at home.  Just for reference, it’s been more 26 years since I lived at home.  I feel like if ever there was a time to insert big-eyed emojis it would be here.

Seriously, we are all very excited for this trip and to spend some real time together.

We will see you back here sometime in August to share the shenanigans and get back to it, but until then enjoy the rest of your summer.

Sunshine & Sarcasm,
Lowi & G
