It seems Grey’s Anatomy has taught me something other than being a doctor is super stressful and you could potentially get caught in a fire, your boyfriend’s dead girlfriend could come back, and you could marry someone who’s McDreamy.
I’ve been testing out some new stress-neutralizing skills as of late and I read a suggestion about picking three songs you really like and dancing 2-3 times a week. As I am longtime of rebounding I thought I’d play three of my favorite songs and jump on the rebounder.
I noticed the stress starting to creep in during a long work day and as it’s easier to get out of a bad mood if you nip it at the beginning I stopped and decided to do something about it. One of the perks of working for yourself.
I started out jumping on the trampoline, singing along to one of my favorite Pink songs! Well that only lasted a song because I lost my balance and had to fall/jump off the trampoline.
Nevertheless I was not deterred. I just transitioned to dancing on the floor and I am here to tell you, it’s so much fun!
I danced, I sang, I lip-synced. I shimmied, shook my booty, jumped repeatedly in the air like I was at a concert and I laughed.
I also broke a pretty good sweat so I think that was a sneaky way to get some exercise in. When I got done I felt energized and I felt more relaxed and that’s when Meredith Grey came into my mind. I thought, Oh my gosh! Shonda Rhimes knows what she’s talking about it. It is better to dance it out. Dance out the sad, the crazy making, the silly, the stupid and the anger. Dance it out, girl!
I am going to keep this little tip on replay for a few weeks. I will keep you posted. Maybe my dancing will improve, too!
