Last week, I told you I was doing things differently and in conjunction with that I was committing to an end of year challenge called, #last90days. Ready or not, we are in the last stretch of 2019 and starting October 1st we have 3 months to make the rest of this year count. I have talked about and “tried” to do better as I head into the holidays some years, but this year I am committed to making a real difference as I head into 2020. This is perfect timing because I told you that the new year is filling up and I need to get my game on WAY BEFORE January 1st.
So, what is this challenge you ask? Basically it’s a giant accountability group to get us through these last 90 days of 2019. There are some guidelines; things we must do every single day:
-
Get up an hour earlier than you normally do and use the time for yourself.
-
Workout for at least thirty minutes every day.
-
Drink half of your body weight in ounces of water each day.
-
Give up one food category you Know you shouldn’t be eating.
-
Write down five things you’re grateful for every single day.
I’m not going to lie. These things are going to be hard for me to do EVERY DAY.
I am more of a majority of days kind of girl. EVERY DAY is a big ask.
Where did I hear about this? My good friend, Rachel Hollis told me about it. Love her, hate her, be indifferent about her, I don’t care, but the girl has got it going on. She has so much energy and she isn’t just talking the talk, she is DOING IT EVERY SINGLE DAY. If you aren’t following her you need to go right now and follow her Instagram @msrachelhollis or follow her on your favorite social media platform. The point is she inspires me every day because of her routine, not her books or her clothing line on QVC. Guys, she gets up sometimes at 4:30am just so she can fit her workout in. She posts videos many times a week in her gym doing the deed. I don’t know about you, but it’s been awhile since I have been that dedicated to anything. So, I signed up for the challenge so I can get the daily emails and motivations and I am telling all of you because I want the extra accountability.
Maybe you are thinking that the list of 5 things is a lot and you aren’t sure if you can commit. Oh, ladies and gentlemen that list is just the tip of the iceberg. She also has some journal work regarding your dreams, goals and taking action. As a life coach, this is basically my job. I listen to people’s dreams, help them create goals, brainstorm actionable steps to reach their their goals and hold them accountable. Rachel Hollis is basically my life coach for the next 90 days. Okay, Rach isn’t going to come knocking on my door if she doesn’t’ see my light on at 5:30am, but I feel the pressure.
You might be reading this and thinking you might want to commit. DO IT! You also might be thinking NO WAY. DO IT ANYWAY.
Every morning this week I have not wanted to open my eyes when the alarm goes off and my first thought has been that starting next week I have committed to getting up an hour earlier. I am a little nervous, but I am more excited because I told you, I want to do things differently. Our lives can’t possibly transform into something different if we keep doing the same things. Waiting until the new year is the same old thing. Let’s stop waiting until…let’s commit together to making a difference in our own lives. Go sign up at www.thehollisco.com and join me in this challenge.
Tuesday, October 1st, I will be up bright and early taking time for myself. If you decide to join the challenge, let me know in the comments or drop me a text message. I will keep you posted on my progress so tune in each week for an update!
