It’s not very often that I have a real girls’ week. Technically, it’s been more like some days sprinkled with family, but I’ll take it. Last Thursday, my friend, Mary, flew into to Denver and we have been in the mountains for a solid week. I have been to the grocery once and I have done absolutely no laundry. I have only cooked a few times and that was only because we were running a race and it was my hubby’s birthday.
We have hiked, run, talked, laughed, had several bottles of wine, many margaritas and eaten lunch on a patio in almost every mountain town west of Denver. Honestly, the most difficult thing we have done is run the Slacker Half Marathon and even that lasted less than 3 hours.
As if being together wasn’t enough we have had the most beautiful weather you could imagine. Each day we have been met with clear blue skies, full sun, a slight breeze and 65 degrees. These are the days that make you roll the windows down and turn the radio up.
On Tuesday morning, G flew into Denver completing our little mountain posse. We continued our patio hopping in Vail Village as we ate alongside the river. What can I say? It’s been a rough week, but someone had to do it.
I am so thankful to have had some time to just breathe the mountain air, run with friends this past weekend and connect with my soul sisters. I am looking forward to several more days with G.
