(L) Count with me now, 1, 2…yes two days of getting out and running this last week and I am pretty happy about that. I didn’t run the full 3 miles that I normally walk, but I did run most of it and it felt..not terrible. The dog thought it was awesome until about 2.75 miles and then he stopped abruptly and looked at me like, “hey crazy, not going down that hill because I know we have to run back up it to get home. How about we just call it a day and go home?”
Yes, he said all of that in the look he gave me. Samson and I speak the same language, but I did make that lazy beast go down the hill and back up before we went home. And let me tell you it was totally worth it. It got rid of all of the stress and nonsense I was feeling before I went out and ran. I really do need that kind of exertion to keep my brain firing correctly. So, I am going for 3 days this week. Baby steps, people.
I also managed to get another 4 days of walking in so I didn’t forsake everything else I have been doing. It definitely feels good to be getting back on track slowly but surely.

The Torture Report began in January 2014 as a weekly update of our journey to completing a 50-mile race. Since then it’s continued on to become a chronicle of how we try mightily to find fitness, health and sometimes the finish line. We aren’t always successful but we keep showing up and telling you all about it on Tuesdays.
