Lightning Strikes

What are the odds of lightning striking your house? What are the odds that it only strikes your house and not your neighbors?  Perhaps it was the Kriya Meditation?  Did my arms act as lightening rods? Should I purchase a lottery ticket?

Colorado has seen its share of storms, floods and fires over the years and we have been very fortunate considering the destruction we have witnessed nearby.

About 7 years ago we had a massive hail storm that destroyed our roof, broke 8 windows and caused a lot of miscellaneous destruction.  This summer we have had several hail storms and in June we, again, had our roof, windows and siding hit.  It caused thousands in damages and we haven’t even begun the fixes.

A couple of weeks ago week we had another storm accompanied by massive lightning. My two older girls were at the house when a bolt of lightning lit up the house, caused the power to go out momentarily and the alarms to go off.  They called us immediately and said that lightning had struck the house.  We came home and everything seemed to be okay…until it wasn’t.  First, the internet was out and it wasn’t our provider.  Then we began to slowly discover that most of our electronics were not working; the stereo, the blu-ray players, the elliptical machine, garage door opener, the hot tub and the list is growing.  The list of damages is long and who knows what tomorrow will bring.

So, I am going to keep doing the Kriya just in case this is the purge and the good stuff is on its way!  I am an optimist… most of the time anyway.

That’s amazing. Glad no one was hurt. Does insurance cover damaged electronics?

I know! Thankful the girls were okay! Insurance does cover electronics. We have to have an electrician come out and test everything and then see the cost of repairing the big stuff. Hopefully, the hot tub people can fix our hit tub because it is 20 years old and there is no chance we are buying a new one!!:-)
