(G) A week with the family and at altitude has made for interesting week of torture for this flat-lander.
July challenges
My core, squat and plank challenges got off to a good start but since July 5th I’ve been challenged for sure. I hope to catch up now that I am home although getting in at 2 am this morning really sets the rest of the week off to a great start.
July 100-mile challenge
I am 20 miles in for July… only 80 miles left to go! Now that I have hit Ohio and the humidity I am going to have to get serious. It will be refreshing to have a tad more oxygen available for my lungs but the humidity wall will be a tough re-entry. Guess I can’t use the excuse of “I am at altitude” any longer.
L&G Reunited
It was awesome to get some miles in with Pocahontas herself. We hit the trail most mornings to take in the gorgeous sites of Georgetown and even stop in a majestic spot for some good meditation vibes.
(L) Pocahontas has been in her element this week and running amongst the trees.
It’s been an awesome week with G and the rest of the family and I managed to get 18.5 miles in for the week. We even did a 5k on the 4th of July and coerced our sister to do it with us. A big shout out to Lisa for finishing her first 5k ever!
Let me just say, I may never finish first in my age group, but I did manage to get us to the race first.
I have started my July 108.5 Mile Challenge and I only have 90 to go! Let us not forget my shortfall for June!
Overall, it’s been a great week of outdoor activities. We have canoed, fished, run, walked and hiked. Now, it’s time to get serious about the rest of those darn challenges like finding my six pack!
