What a whirlwind it’s been. We had the whole family together to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday and our parents’ anniversary. Getting the whole crew together is an undertaking in planning and chaos all at once. While the trip is over for some and winding down for others we have lots of good times to look back on.
Summer camp Miller-Style
We spent a lot of time by the lake fishing, canoeing and just enjoying the amazing summer Colorado weather .
Park, Parade and Water Brigade Post-race we gathered all our blankets, chairs and snacks and headed to the park for BBQ and parade. The little ones got some good candy that the adults not-so-stealthfully stole. We even got a random green onion from one of the floats. It must be a Georgetown thing.
Then we headed off to watch the water brigade. Alex, Sydney, Ava, Andy and our friends Joe and Matt took park in the festivities.
Freezing Fireworks (G) For this Ohioan, I have never witnessed Fourth of July Fireworks while wearing a jacket, actively shivering and able to see my own breath. But indeed it was 39 degrees and brisk on Friday night. The fireworks over the mountains were amazing! We all had a great time in our caravan to the best parking lot viewing spot.
Lots of ice cream!
There is a possibility that ice cream was consumed every day by most of our cast of characters.
Sydney St. George
Saturday night we enjoyed the evening at Lucha listening to Sydney rock out playing both her original songs and some great covers like Bottom of the River and House of the Rising Sun.
