When Pinterest goes wrong…

You know what I am talking about.  You’ve browsed through all of the Pinterest outfit ideas, recipes, DIY house projects, and hairstyles.  There are some interesting and unique ideas and we have had some great success with trying them.

We have made salt scrubs for Christmas, cinnamon rolls, dinner, decorations and braids made to look like a heart on your head!

In my defense, this was my first attempt and it takes me awhile to get the hang of it.  OK, usually Reese just tells me to forget it and she figures it out herself!  You get the idea.

So, a few months ago Sydney decided to sleep with rollers in her hair ALL NIGHT.  She had found a very Marilyn Monroe-ish hairstyle that she knew was just going to rock the house.  As with most things Sydney does, she had a vision.  This is what her vision looked like:

Cute, right?  I could actually see Sydney with this ‘do and I couldn’t wait to see her in the morning.

Well, the next morning I remember vividly I was in Reese’s room getting her up when Sydney came in and said,

“this is Pinterest gone wrong!  Very, very wrong!”

As you can see, Sydney is laughing uncontrollably as are we.  Not quite the look she was going for!

Nice try though.  Maybe next time?

How sad!! 🙂 Unfortunately I do remember many, many years of sleeping all night in rollers, hoping against hope that my wire-straight hair would miraculously curl. It did – wildly and for about 10 minutes after I took the rollers out. Finally gave up and lived with a ponytail for most of my high school years.

I don’t think I ever wore curlers at night as my hair was already huge! My sisters both wore them overnight though. What a pain to sleep on those things!
