Sometimes G and I write these blogs weeks in advance, but more often we just sit back and wait for magic to strike! Such magic struck in the form of a compliment Tuesday night. It came out of nowhere from none other than my very own hubby.
So, let me set the scene. Our little family of three was sitting around the table eating at 8 p.m. the other night discussing the day’s events. Everything seemed normal when all of a sudden my hubby starts talking about an article he read about successful people. I don’t want to do this conversation any injustice so I will quote it in its entirety!
Hubby: “So, I was reading this article today about successful people.”
Lowi: “Yes.” I may or may not have yawned right here, but it gets better I promise.
Hubby: “Yes, it said that one of the most important characteristics of a wildly successful person is that they are very positive.”
Lowi: “Interesting….”
Hubby: “So, I thought about you and G and your blog.”
Lowi: “So, what are you trying to say? We are negative?” Let me just explain myself here. I was interpreting his comment as him saying we must not be positive because we aren’t “wildly successful”……YET!!
Hubby: “Why would you go to the negative? What I am trying to say is that you and G are always so positive (granted you are sarcastic), but you are always looking for the positive in everything.”
Lowi: “Wait! Are you saying that you see G and Me as WILDLY SUCCESSFUL?”
Hubby: “Well, I am saying you are very positive…”
Lowi: “No, I think you what you said is that we are very positive so we are going to be wildly successful…someday!” BIG SMILE! “Wow! You think we are positive!! And you think we are going to be wildly successful!”
The rest of the evening went something like this:
Lowi: “Wow! So you think we are going to be wildly successful!” This was repeated many times over the next few hours.
I am so thankful for the article, the conversation, my hubby and most of all, that all of this positivity is going to pay off someday. Granted G and I may be dead when our message becomes wildly successful, but still…
Seriously though, when your loved one notices your positivity and hard work…priceless.
Sunshine & Sarcasm,
Lowi & G
