I have a love/hate relationship with technology…a lot. It makes our lives often so much easier, but at other times it is the very thing that gets in the way. I get tired of seeing my kids with their phones and iPads. I loathe hearing the incessant beeps and rings of notifications. I beg my kids to turn the disruptions off. They oblige, but then the next day it’s going again.
The upside of technology is sharing. Of course, there is social media, which I won’t even discuss right now, but we also have the ability to text, call, Skype or Facetime with anyone…anywhere. In fact, my middle daughter does a lot of vocal lessons between Nashville and Colorado via Skype, which is fantastic, and we also Skype with our daughter in Boulder. These are the perks of technology.
Another perk? We get to share happiness, joy and laughter with the click of a button.
Today our oldest shared a video that she had taken over the holidays of our dog/pony, Samson. She shared it via a group text message around lunch-time today and the 5 of us were laughing so hard remembering the moment it was taken.
So, today I am thankful for the ability to share special moments in an instant with those we love.
