(L) Oh Squat-a-thon and Run A Mile Everyday challenges how you keep me on my toes. They both started last Monday and I am happy to report that even though I had to do a little make up session Monday morning I am up to date. I find that I like challenges and goals to keep me on track. Sometimes it’s just too easy for me to fall of the wagon when I am not accountable to something or someone.
I was excited to have my walking partner suggest that she would like to begin running, too. So, as of last week I have a new running partner and I am so excited. She is referring to me as the “pusher” now and she has no idea what she is in for. OOOh, I love when friends unwittingly sign up for things with me!
I will say Samson was not excited about the “running” thing. He prefers long walks, I guess, as one day we had to run home after only a mile and he refused to come back out with me!
Poor Samson has no idea that the Outrun training has begun.
(G) Lowi and I like to talk a lot about wagons and trains. You’d think we were from the wild west. But no we’re just two girls trying to make our way in the wellness world. We’re trying to stay on the wagons of good health habits and keep the consistent mojo of a locomotive.
That makes me think of locomotion and Kylie Minogue but I will stop… and instead continue with the report of torture.
No Sugar
Are you tired of hearing that we are trying to stay off sugar just to report the following week that we, well, um, didn’t? This week, I did. In fact I haven’t had sugar for 9 days. It might be a parade-worthy moment or at least a very polite golf clap. Seriously, though, sugar as I have mentioned many times before is a DRUG. I am an addict and if there were a 12-step program I would need to attend. That is no joke. As Lowi and I were discussing over the weekend, we feel SO MUCH BETTER when we’re off the crack. Join us if you are so inclined, we need the accountability and the company.
#RunEveryDay December Challenge
Day 9 of the challenge to run/walk at least a mile a day. I randomly decided that I would shoot for 5 miles a day. I am happy to say I have stuck with that so far. We are just choo-chooing our way to January 1st. Even Shakira and I braved the pouring rain on Saturday to get our miles in.
Squat challenge
Really, what was I thinking when I resurrected this one? Day 9 and we are up to 60 squats today. While I am still on schedule, I am also slowly creating a super sore posterior. Blissfully tomorrow is a rest day. Who knew that Wednesday could be celebrated for more than just being the halfway to weekend marker?
Sculpt it, baby
I don’t know how sculpted I am. Well, actually I do know, I am not very sculpted. But the strength training mission continues consistently. And I have plaintiff hamstrings to prove it. Really, just like staying off the sugar, it feels really good to be getting it all in. I have more energy, sleep really well and it’s less stress knowing I got it done each day. It’s like a little mini-accomplishment every night.
