Note from Lowi & G: Each Thursday we will be sharing a book that has been instrumental on our path to cultivating gratitude. We hope you’ll share with us your favorites in the comments section.
(L) I read the book, “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp around Thanksgiving last year. It is a book that will haunt you and at the same time make you deeply aware of the blessings in your life.
This is a Christian book detailing Ann’s story of finding God in her often tragic life. She does this by embarking on a journey to discover 1000 daily things to be grateful for. Some are big and some are small, but I can tell you that you will not be able to get through a single day without counting your many blessings again.
The day I began reading it I ran into an acquaintance out in the mountains with their 3- month old baby. I had the opportunity to hold that baby in a noisy restaurant for about an hour. Because I was so deeply touched by this book, almost a year later I can vividly remember what that baby felt like, smelled like and sounded like in my arms.
Sincerely practicing gratitude changes who you are.
Mostly Sunshine,
Lowi & G
