(G) Wanted: MWF seeking her exercise mojo. It was last seen approximately two weeks ago at Highbanks Metro Park. It, however, hasn’t been seen since. If you see it could you please send it home. There is a possibility it might be hanging out in a bar with my abs and Lowi’s, too. Please approach with caution, they are not team players or very cooperative.
As you can see I lost my focus. The first five days of July went well and then around July 6th it all started to go downhill. And then I got home from Colorado my motivation and I decided to lie down on the side of the street and nap. I dragged myself through a couple of yoga classes (yep, I am teacher of the year) and a few decent days walking. Still nothing. So on Sunday thoroughly disgusted and frustrated I decided I was going to run 10 miles no matter what. Then the sky opened up and began to pour. Yep that super moon really served me. So I begrudgingly headed to the treadmill. Jack Bauer was there and so it was OK (Yes I am on the last season of 24. Withdraw symptoms will ensue shortly.)

Challenges
Other than my mental state challenge I think I can salvage them if I turn this ship around. I ran 8 miles and walked the last 2. So 10 miles is OK, right? I am at 39 miles for the month and hopefully will add another 8 today. What? Not feeling hopeful? My squat, core and plank challenges are too far behind to try to catch up so I decided to start over. So for all intents and purposes Monday, July 14 was Day 1. Don’t judge 🙂 If it’s 5 o’clock somewhere it can be the 1st of the month somewhere too. I am sure… OK I hope.
Awesome to Possum
I got this in the mail yesterday. Apparently June was a much better month for me. It seems I’ve gone from awesome to possum. I am not sure what that means exactly. I shouldn’t malign a possum without really knowing their motivational status but it rhymed so…
(L) I can relate to losing my mojo when G left Colorado last week. I thought perhaps she took it home in her carry-on, but now that I know it’s with my abs, I’m worried. I mean I have been looking for those things for months now!
I will say it was so much easier knowing I had someone else to run with everyday. Now, I am back to lonesome dove, no wait, that’s a TV show…I’m Pocahontas! I, too, struggled with putting my running shoes on, but managed 2 miles one morning and 7 with my hubby on Sunday. We even found a a new waterfall on my beloved trail.
Getting a running partner is looking up though. I found a little squaw who may or may not be my neighbor, Jenny, who has agreed to run with me. This is where I would normally post her photo, braids and all, but alas I did not seek her permission yet. Perhaps next week you will get to meet her. You know how G and I like to drag unsuspecting souls into our circle of love. After seeing this post she may decline to run with me altogether and then I will be back to Samson, AKA, Olivia Newton-John!
Starting Over
I wouldn’t say I am actually starting over, but summer vacation has been a little rough on Pocahontas. So many fun things to do and so little desire to run. I am in it to win it though and I will finish the 108 miles this month! Push ups and Ab work have begun again in earnest and weight training? I did make it to the basement this week and the weights are right where I left them. Thank goodness, I was worried I might have to put that off a little longer.
