A whole new kind of three Rs in our FFAF (Free For All Friday). We started this little special delivery for the summer because summer rocks. I mean, it steam bakes us in July if you live in Ohio or anywhere in the Midwest, but summer is magical. We have lightning bugs, sparklers, the 4th of July and summer love. There’s nothing quite like any of it.
And that’s what I think of when I ponder FFAF each week. I think about what feels awesome because it’s happening during the summer and further what is just flat-out special about summer.
Energized!
I am über jazzed that this Sunday I am finally doing a course to learn Reiki. This is the third time I’ve signed up (the previous two were canceled) and I hope it’s a charm. I will give you all the details next week. I think it’s going to be a great experience with an awesome teacher and what I can only imagine are like-minded peeps.
Rebounding
A couple years ago I was introduced to rebounding in Gabrielle Bernstein’s book Add More ~Ing to Your Life. Since then I have been a devotee … well of both! I love GB’s work and the rebounding has provided me with a great outlet for stress and a prep for meditation.
Since the weather has gotten too beautiful to be inside, I have been dragging my trampoline outside to jump. Aside from the occasional odd look it’s even more therapeutic to be outside than just jumping itself.
Why rebound, you ask? I could go on for a long time but here are the two best/shortest answers. I find it immensely relaxing (try it, you’ll see) and it’s a great way to move the lymph around in your system and boost overall health.
Resonance
I am a lover of all seasons but there is nothing quite like summer. It not only lends itself to outdoor activity, the trees, flowers and Mother Earth herself practically call you outside each day. It’s the time of the year that the planet seems most alive. The rest of the seasons always somehow feel like transition. But summer is like her time to shine.
I can really get behind that idea and energy. So get outside, for no reason whatsoever, and be “on” the Earth. Walk barefoot, hug a tree, plant a flower, walk at the park and hear the quiet hum of summer herself. I think you’ll feel the resonating power too.
Peace out. Love in,
G
