Lowi and G Garden Masters?

So you know that G and I have historically NOT had a green thumb, but we are going for it anyway.  Yes, we have “gardens”  although calling our plantings such may be a stretch.

(L) As you can see from the photos, everything looks pretty good out here in Colorado.  Look at that Cilantro!!  I am pretty sure it grows an inch everyday.  Andy do you see the tomatoes? It gives me great joy to go outside and harvest a little for our dinner.  I know, I know Cilantro and Basil do not exactly constitute a harvest.  My kids look at me like I am crazy and I am pretty sure my husband is thinking, “whoa there Pocahontas, it’s not like you just brought in a dozen ears of corn!”

This is what I see…

This is what is actually in my backyard…

Okay, so I have a long way to go, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

(G) We have much more meager beginnings here in the Buckeye State. We planted beets, cilantro, basil, mint, parsley and celery. So far, the parsley and the mint are pretty happy campers. Although I hear that’s not much of an accomplishment as apparently mint would grow in a Dixie cup with no dirt or water.

Yes that is my mint growing on a folded up lawn chair. We’re a classy bunch here in O-H-I-O.

I started out with high hopes and dreams of guacamole with my cilantro. Sadly, it’s almost like it’s trying to escape and growing far, far away but without any real herb to speak of.

We are also attempting to grow beets AGAIN this year. Since all the action happens underground who knows what will happen.

Even with this very fair growth report, I get a text at least once a day from Johnny Armani asking: “How are the crops?” We have a container garden, maybe even a garden-light if you will. But crop, we may be far from… crap on the other hand?

The basil and celery are hanging in there but it’s touch and go I think.

Sunshine & Sarcasm,
