L&G Morsels: Love of the simple things

With our focus every day on what is working in our lives with #100daysofhappiness, we want to share the simple, but amazing, things that we love every day in life. These are the things you can’t buy, sell or replace even if you tried.

(G) Purring Love: We all know I am about one cat away from being the crazy cat lady. Sadly, that’s true, and admittedly, I think there are worse things to be. That said, cats are independent thinkers. They are not here for us. Instead, they are clearly convinced we are here for them. So when, my dear, sweet feline Parsley opts to curl up on my pillow, nose to nose with me and purr, I feel loved. And it’s pure joy.

Summer breeze: I have always loved kicking back at the end of a long summer day and enjoying the breeze. But after the winter we all just experienced, I am more keenly attuned to the aaah-kind-of-feeling of a warm breeze on your skin.

Sleep serenity: Sleep is an undervalued commodity. I have often said (a la Bon Jovi) that I can sleep when I am dead. But the truth is sleep is luxurious, necessary and awesome. The best thing, in my opinion, is to wake up in the morning and realize you have not awoken once in the night and then you sense that you are refreshed.

After-run feeling: Earlier this week I had a face-off with far too many outfits in fitting rooms at a couple stores. I came home feeling not-so-great about myself. I took my bad attitude out for a run and felt so much better. I said to Johnny Armani, why can’t everything make me feel the way I do after a run? Even a bad run is good.
