Here we are at the Turkey Trot 5-mile race Thanksgiving Day November 2000. If you are wondering why we look somewhat dazed and confused it’s because it was freezing out and G was days from tying the marital knot. Who knew that five miles then would lead to training for 50 miles, 14 years later.

This makes me want to pull out the pic of MY first race with G…the Columbus Marathon! G had to talk me thru beginning about mile 18 and she was so patient with me. I remember her describing each neighborhood we went thru and telling me how it got its name. And Lowi was waiting for us with baby Reese in her baby carrier and then we went home and ate turkey! Good times 🙂

Oh my gosh! That was a big day for us. It was our first marathon, I think. You were so dedicated and committed to get to the end. And yes, we did put on an eating clinic afterward. Even Johnny Armani was around nearly every corner cheering us on. That always helps.
