All you need is love! It’s been a rough and tumble week so today we are even more in need of L-O-V-E. Aside from what we love this week, we want to invite you to start thinking each week about what you love or enjoy. We can attest to the fact that the sheer act of writing this every week boosts our positivity. And as a bonus, we would be thrilled for you to share your “love list” in the comments below.
Food
(G) So Delicious Dairy Free Minis: I am going to give my pal Jill a shout-out as she turned me on to these little delights. I can’t decide if I should thank her or smack her since I have some self-control issues with ice cream and chocolate.
Experiences
(G) REST: This is a lower mileage week and I am very much enjoying the down time. I love to train hard but I also strongly believe in the power of recovery. Here’s to extra sleep and mentally preparing for the next two hard weeks ahead!
(L) Weekend at home: This past weekend we stayed home and watched it snow, watched movies and watched a game that didn’t turn out to be so super.
I loved not having to be anywhere.
Books
(G) Chloe’s Kitchen: 125 Easy, Delicious Recipes for Making the Food You Love the Vegan Way by Chloe Coscarelli I have loved every single thing I have made in her cookbook. I have made Cinnamon Rolls, Ginger Nutmeg Spice Cupcakes, Balsamic Bruschetta, Tomato Basil Bisque, Falafel Sliders, Pineapple Not-So-Fried Rice and Mongolian BBQ Seitan… to name a few or a lot!
(L) I hesitate to list this next book, but it’s hilarious (in a highly inappropriate way) and it’s hitting the big screen this September. This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper is a rather dark comedy about a Jewish family sitting Shiva after their father passes away. It is family dysfunction at its best. If you can get past the foul language and very inappropriate behavior you will be laughing out loud. Check it out, but only with my fair warning. Do not come back here hating on me after you read the first page!!
Music
(L) I had heard the song, Coming Home, by Skylar Grey prior to the big game commercials, but the Budweiser ad sealed my love for it. If you aren’t sure what I am talking about you can check out the song here and the commercial….here. I love watching videos of the soldiers coming home to their loved ones. I don’t know if it’s because we live in a military town and we know so many military families, but when I see these soldiers reunited, it always makes me cry. You can feel the weight of their sacrifice as they embrace their families. Hug your family and thank a soldier! Love, Love, Love!!
Love and more love,
Lowi & G
