Be Still.
We can all relate to the idea that life can get so busy that you can feel your cells practically vibrate with activity. This week, find a minute, an afternoon, a stolen moment and BE STILL. Be still in your physical body, your mind, your spirit. Breathe it all in and breathe it all out.
I know I found myself yesterday feeling pulled in a few directions and all I really wanted was a little bit of time to be still, to regroup. We still have three plus weeks left in this holiday season to manage. We have really two choices:
- Buckle down, put your head down and push forward.
- Sit down, close your eyes and breathe even if just for 60 seconds every morning or every night before you go to bed.
Drawing brief moments of stillness toward you instead of repelling them because you don’t believe you have time can change the entire trajectory of a day. It doesn’t mean you have to stop participating in all the responsibilities and events you have planned but instead sprinkling in opportunities for stillness.
It’s taking an extra moment while washing your hands and breathing in and out; feeling the warm water on your hands and being present in your experience. Yep, stillness follows.
You may continue to move but the stillness inside can continue to hold steady, hold true.
