Thankful Thursday: Making Mid-Course Additions

Thankful Thursday

Last night, I was thinking about what my plan was for my yoga class and I decided to float the idea of giving everyone a blank index card when they came in and asked them to write down another person or situation they would like to dedicate their practice to that evening. It provides us the opportunity to make the practice bigger than us, deeper than just a physical series of movements, and addresses our whole person not just the body.
It occurred to me how lucky I am that I have the freedom to make these mid-course corrections whenever I want. If I don’t like how a yoga class is going, I can just change it. If I feel like I am not connecting well with my class, I can adjust in that moment.

Or I can add things in just because I think they will enhance the atmosphere.

One blank card added to class with a new perspective and a chain-reaction begins that alters everything else. A mid-course addition.

It’s also how I have started to view our Savor Life October experience. It started out as an intention to slow down and take life in. And it still is. But I am noticing for me it’s becoming a great addition. I know we won’t all continue to post about it on Facebook for the rest of our lives but I do hope that we all leave this experience with great insights into ourselves and each other.

Many of you have shared such powerful stories and often in just a few words. You are embodying the simple brilliance of being IN your life. It’s been so great to witness the things that you have shared and also to receive great love in return for what we’ve shared.

What is your next mid-course addition?
