Occasionally, our mother, who we love dearly and who is truly the most selfless person I know, gives us blog-worthy moments that for days leave us laughing or at the very least saying, “WHAT?”

This week was no exception. My mom called to just catch up and I quickly gathered that she was spending the night with my grandmother. Our grandmother is not what I would call optimistic or someone who is a joy seeker. In fact, she can often be a joy sucker. I know it sounds harsh, but it’s true.

Anyway, our grandmother loves to sit and watch QVC. This means that if you are the one staying with her you, too, are watching QVC. You can imagine that after years of watching this television program, you might feel that the items they are selling are a must have. More than once my mother has called to inform me of the “hottest” toy on the market only to have my kids say they have never heard of it!

This week during my conversation with mom she tells me she was just thinking about me because she was watching “Wigs.” I thought it was a new sitcom or something. Nope, she was really watching a segment on QVC where they were selling wigs.  So, what made her think of me?

MOM: “I just thought you would look so good in perhaps a red wig, wouldn’t that be fun?”

Lowi: “Ummm. Have you seen how much hair I have? I already have enough hair for two people without a wig!”

Mom: “Yes, I was a little worried that you might not be able to get all of your hair under that wig that’s why I haven’t bought it yet.”

Lowi: Thinking, but not saying out loud, “that’s the only reason you didn’t buy it?” I just laughed.

MOM: “So, if you get a wig in the mail, it’s from me!”

As if the QVC box wouldn’t have been a dead give away!

After I hung up with mom the first thing I did was look up QVC on my laptop to see these amazing wigs and you know what? I was not disappointed. Let’s face it some days you feel like Raquel Welch and other days you just feel like Marge Simpson! With the help of QVC, and their wig selection, you can now choose who you want to be on any given day.

I really hope she buys me a wig!
