Cooking with my own herbs
Not unlike Lowi (Pocahontas), I am now uber-jazzed to be able to use/eat anything that I have grown in my humble container garden. Last night, I whipped up a nice light pasta dish and garnished it with Basil and Parsley (the herbs not the cats) It was strangely fun to be able to go out to the deck and snip off some leaves for dinner. I get it now, Lowi!

We got the beets
In addition to our currently flourishing herbs, the beets haven taken on a life of their own. While I was with the family in Colorado Johnny Armani was holding down the fort and apparently also has become the plant whisperer. Everything thrived while I was gone. Needless to say now that I am home I am staying out of his green thumb ways and letting him be in charge.
Meditation vibe
Lowi and I have been longtime struggling meditators (OK maybe just me) but while in Colorado I found a really nice groove. Lowi took me to her favorite meditation spot among the mountains and it was total bliss. Since I’ve been home I have been striving for that sweet spot and experimenting with more loving-kindness meditation she led me through.

Youth Hostel leader and my “hostiles”
While in Colorado, I got to be “roomies”with all the kids in the basement bedroom. It’s replete with bunk beds and I like to affectionately refer to it as the youth hostel. Then I called all my charges my “hostiles” just for fun. They weren’t too hostile and they tolerated my leader antics pretty well. In fact, even the late night bed check complete with flashlight went over well.

Peace out,
